Rotherlsade forms part of what we believe was the old manor house. The accommodation is spacious, but the real charm can be found outside with the large expanse of gardens, enjoying the tranquility of the hamlet and even the luxuries of a hot tub and sauna!
From the entrance hall, there is an exposed wooden floor, storage cupboard and stairs rising to the first floor landing. The ground floor accommodation inlcudes the lounge, also with an exposed wooden floor, window to front and an open fireplace. In the kitchen/breakfast room, there are a range of wall, base and drawer units, space and plumbing for a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and oil fired Rayburn range cooker. A door also opens to the rear porch. Next is the dining room having sliding doors into the conservatory. At the front of the house there is a the third bedroom/study and finally, the family bathroom, having a coloured suite comprising of a bath with shower over, wash hand basin and a WC.
On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, bedroom one having a window to the front and fitted wardrobes. Bedroom two is at the rear, with a window overlooking the garden and also having built in wardrobes.
The gardens of Rotherslade are an absolute joy. At the side of the house, there is a driveway with parking for several vehicles leading down to the top garden. Here there is a large expanse of lawn, patio, mature shrubs, plants, all enjoying a lovely sunny aspect, which also includes a roof terrace accessed via a spiral staircase. Not only do they take in sunlight through the day, but also a lovely rural view. Finally on the top garden, there is a single detached garage having power/light supplied. Beyond here, there is an area of hardstanding which includes a hot tub and outside sauna, both of which will remain with the sale. You then continue on to the lower garden, which includes a further area of lawn, two ponds, a glasshouse and a cultivated allotment garden for vegetables.
Stileway is a peaceful rural hamlet away from main roads just a short distance from the village of Meare where there is a Parish Church and Primary School. The lane into Stileway is a 'No Through Road' which means that the hamlet benefits from the absence of through traffic. The historic town of Glastonbury and the thriving centre of Street are both within approximately three and five miles providing comprehensive shopping and leisure facilities.
On approaching Glastonbury from Street/Bridgwater at the main roundabout (B & Q on the left) take the second exit onto the by-pass. Continue straight ahead at the first roundabout and at the second roundabout turn left signposted to Meare. On approaching the village, turn left signposted to Stileway. Continue straight ahead and then follow the road through Stileway bearing left when the property can be seen on the left hand side.
